I have been painting from a very early age back in the mid 80's. I was introduced to the art form through the movie Beat Street
and the infamous documentary Style Wars.
Growing up I was heavily influenced by three main prolific writers here in HTOWN (Hamilton) RIOT and EXIST of TFA CREW, and TEXAS.
First started off tagging, throw ups, bombing, then later stopped for many years. Whilst watching a you tube clip many many years
later. I come across a video clip of a graff art comp 'WRITE FOR GOLD' in which a New Zealand crew had successfully won in 2006.
One of the crew members was EXIST from TMD CREW whom I looked up to and learnt from at a young age. This then inspired me to
start painting and to learn about graffiti art culture.
I am currently a youth worker teaching youth the positive sides of where graffiti art can take them. I also teach the history,
and painting techniques that enables them to express themselves in a positive manner. I have had the awesome opportunity of
painting with artists from all over New Zealand and also International artists. The energy attached to this art form that is
at times misunderstood is invigorating and therapeutic. I would love to travel abroad and paint in other countries and meet
other like minded artists. Graffiti art culture is something I have a in depth passion for and will continue to do so for many years
to come.
